Thanks for the compliments, fellas.

I personally think the car could be just a hair lower sometimes... Perhaps another half inch in the front, and a quarter inch in the rear. However, that would dramatically reduce driveability... and I'd like to keep this car driveable for everyday use.

I've never curbed a wheel before, but today was an exception. Might have to hold off on that Steeda short throw a little while longer now.

I do have some car parts to sell, though, so hopefully that will offset the price of the replacement wheel a little.

Replacement wheel is on its way. Easy way to lose $200 in the blink of an eye.
I did that for the first time just a few days ago too. Mine is now sitting on three R wheels and one OEM 16" while the other is being repaired. Fortunately it was minor.

So, I know your pain. I was not happy.

Curbing wheels sucks. I'll forever be 5 feet away from the curb when I park, now.

And I've got some old rack parts to sell - 2 Yakima fit kits, and a BMW/Thule base rack for a E39/E46.

Wheel is replaced.

Man, getting the tire off was a hell of a job. It took two of us to get them unseated, probably due to the lack of miles on them and the stiff sidewalls from the XL rating.

On a side note, if anyone wants a slightly rashed Axis XMX wheel in otherwise great condition, I'll sell it for crazy cheap.

The wheels look great, this has confirmed my decision to get the Axis XMX 18" in Graphic for my 12 Tuxedo Black SE hatch.

So, today I should finally be getting around to installing my Steeda short throw that I've had laying around since the beginning of July. While I'm in there, I plan on tweaking the intake a bit and removing the silencer.

I also ordered the Mazdaspeed3 rear motor mount and bolt, and a K&N drop-in filter this morning.

Next month, I should be tackling the suspension issues with a Koni yellow retrofit (from the Mazdaspeed3 as well), Focus ST top mounts, and new strut bearings, of course, providing all of the parts are in stock by then.

I'm interested to hear your feedback on the motor mount.

Judging by the responses from others who have installed it, it's a much-needed improvement.

I figured it was a good way to upgrade and still stay under the radar for warranty work.

I wouldn't mind trying it, but I'd need a hoist...which means installing at work...which means them watching me monkey with the powertrain...eek.

You work at a Ford dealership and they give you grief over the warranty when they see you working on your car? Sounds like they need to lighten up, or you need to try buttering-up to some of the service staff.

You should be able to do the install with a set of ramps, though.
