Back Foam Material Deteriorating

Looks kind of like what happened in my 05 Focus. The material that covered those holes looked melted and burnt away. The holes actually went down into the trunk on that car.

Noticed this had happened to a Government car, parked at the mall this weekend. I wondered if it was a common thing, guess so.

yes all the pieces of material r in the trunk.....inside of my car get really hot here in alabama but still you would think they would put a material in there that can withstand heat but then again u would also think a lot of things....ive come to learn that this car has very cheap material in it all around.

You would think, at least they have separate cut outs for it in the 2012's. The 05 it was all one piece back there and it put holes in it. Ill see if I can get some pictures after work today. My brother drives that car now. Also not sure if it made a difference but I had subs in the back. Maybe pulling air in and out of those spaces all the time wasn't a good thing for it.

I have the same problem with mine. My dealer is ordering a whole replacement.

Called dealer because its still not in yet and he said its in high demand and still on back order even though he told me 2 weeks ago it shipped...why tell me it shipped when it hasnt? That makes it worse....Been waiting over 3 months

Just wanted to say that my car is having this same issue and it looks really cheap. Ford should have used some kind of thin black cloth instead of whatever kind of low grade foam is in there.
