Mainly bacause Ford and other sources were reporting that the 2.0 was maxed out. Part of the reason they are designing a 2.3l for the possible RS instead of just bumping output on the 2.0.

Not at all , the RS deserves the 2.3 and anything less and I wont buy one , the RS should have the 2.5 for it to be all the car it can be , a 2.0 in the RS to me would be a slap in the face yet again from Ford

Not at all because you don't believe the reports that the 2.0 is maxed out? I just don't understand the statement.
I agree that a 2.5l would be right for the RS, but (if they actually build it) I would buy it with the 2.3. Ford really needs to commit or stop waving possibilities in our face if they do or don't want some of the STI/EVO market.

The reason why there is some worry about geeting quick ecu flash HP out of the 2.0T of the ST is the following:
"Matthias Ton, stated that the 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine used by the ST was close to its power limit without significantly upgrading its fuel system and turbocharger" -Top Gear UK- In order to go past the stage 1 level of modification on a GTI, which is similar power in the ST, it is recommended to get a new downpipe, catback, intake, and intercooler. I would also suggest a HPFP upgrade (FSI motor not TSI). The next step is a new turbo. Stage 3 w/ turbo does bust out over 400 HP and 400 ft/lbs of torque. All in, the parts are $6000-7500. Its unknown what aftermarket support with ECU flashes and the like will be out there for the ST. Hopefully there will be a $500 chip that takes it up 30hp/40ft/lbs of torque. If not, swaping turbos, fuel pumps, and exhaust isn't always cheap. |

According to Cobb, ECU update will flash will be through OBDII port.
But this hasn't been confirmed yet.

First mod for all owners should be the invisible car bra placed on the front half of their car so you will not have rock chips! Plus a good detail to start protecting the paint.

Ford designed the Evos concept and less than a year later announced the Fusion based off of the Evos concept. In 1998 Chrysler designed the Chronos concept and didn't use the design until 2005 in the 300c. In 1999 Dodge announced the Charger concept. They've been using design cues from that car for over a decade. Funny enough, the original 'new' Charger didn't use ANY designs from the concept. Chrysler Corp. is the WORST at utilizing their concepts. Get real. Ford is WAY ahead of the game.
