Its not my fault that Ford doesn't think there is a market for station wagons here, despite the Jetta being in the same class and also being available as a TDI, as well as BMW bringing the 3 series Estate back, etc.

I'd have considered the wagon if it was available here, but I still might have ended up with the hatch.

True and it's certainly not an ST wagon. Why do people keep saying it's a Focus wagon anyway, are they just simple or blind or what?

It shares some of its design and platform DNA, but just because they are platform mates does not make them the same thing.

Here's that diesel estate that someone else was asking for.

The color is a bit unique, but it proves the point, the Focus Estate is no C-Max.

Note that the Camaro is my rental car and my last trip I had a 2012 Mustang...

If you look carefully you can see that license plate for the C-Max says "Manufacturer" on it. Not sure what the little number 4 is in the top left of the rear window...

I'm not sold on the looks but the performance should be pretty decent with a combined power of 188hp -- should humble the Prius!

That pic just makes me think why. Let's add more weight. The hatch has plenty of room as is IMO. If you need more room in the back than the hatch in the USA people usually just buy a truck. Not many trucks in Europe.

If you're referring to the wagon then I should have you know that it should be within 80 lbs of the Hatch, (36 kg per Ford.co.uk and comparing the 1.0L i3 ecoBoost Hatch vs Estate), some of the larger engines show an even smaller weight difference between hatch and wagon in terms of curb weight differences.

Most of that difference comes down to the wagon being as long as the sedan iirc.

Yes, the only additional weight on the wagon is the extra steel, glass, etc being as long as the sedan with a hatch. The drag coefficient is higher, but the difference is insignificant.

If they were referring to the C-Max weighing more, its all battery and electric motor. The Cmax hybrid only weights 300 lbs more than the Euro version.

People are saying its the Focus wagon because it about as close as we'll get to a Focus estate for awhile. That or the Escape. The Focus wagon would not demand the premium prices of the Escape in the US. The Escape has been Ford's top five selling vehicle of the last ten years while the Focus wagon didn't sell enough units to stay around. Its too bad.

The pic of the SEL is from my brother who is a Ford sales consultant for a dealerhship in Ottawa Canada. This was from last week when they had their drive event of the new Fusion, Focus ST, & C-Max Hybrid.
