This guy's got a space for that thing at the local airport! A forced repo is in order... this is almost as bad as that poor Corvette!

I'm curious to see the rest of that hood.

Stupid fact of the day... Once upon a time, the factory Viper hood was the most expensive OEM part.

^^^ It's true.
If you broke that fiberglass hood it cost $10,000 to get a brand new replacement!!

On top of that not every Dodge dealership worked on them or accepted Vipers. Chrysler's rules stated that you had to have technicians certified specifically to work on the Viper in order to be certified to repair/maintain them.

The OEM hoods had a defect within the chemical mixture the hoods were made of: they wouldn't fully cure fast enough. So they'd load up a truck full of them and by the time the pieces got to assembly they'd have drooped and/or warped. It was also the largest single piece of fiberglass at that time.

It's still like that. No Chrysler Certified Viper Tech; no service! It's as much a protection for the customer as the dealerships.

A friend of mine had a '94 taken in to the local Dodge dealer for a rough idle... it turned out a gasket had a pinhole leak the regular tech didn't find. When they reassembled it (and flogged it = 3rd gear drop burnouts, exceeding 100mph with the cheap top and ripping it off) the leak was much worse! They hydro-locked the engine, and it had to be sent out of town to a properly credentialed shop. The guy sued and won $50k for the headache and that dealership can't work on, sell, or order any vipers to this day.

I know of some people who hooked up a lawn-mower engine to a couch similar to this:

ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

Thought it was cool, for some reason it reminded me of what POQfocus posted
