Yeah I think overall it's selling as good as can be expected, given the long term brand image of Ford versus Toyota and Honda.

The overall positive reviews of it has certainly helped, but import lovers' ongoing negative perception of Ford, plus the negative buzz (DCT, MyFord Touch) which most car shoppers would certainly have come across in their research, hurt.

I just looked at a few of the big Ford dealers in the region and they seem to have the normal level of stock, around 50-60 Focuses each. So I'm not sure supply is a problem, at least in my region.

True thier are less configuations than previously, but you can still build to spec with available options. This is significantly better than most car companies. The ST is probably the most extreme case of Ford restricting packages. Can't get HIDs without MFT? WTF.

Good luck going over to Honda and ordering a Civic with even a different color and wheel package than you see on the lot. Your choice is the lot. The point is, Ford is much better about customer orders than any other non-luxury manufacturer. Only the Germans, with thier European delivery programs, are better than Ford at equiping a car how you want it.

I guess people buying them are searching for a car that has a rep. for reliability or something. The Focus is still beating the Cruzer and the Dart has some serious catching up to do on sales numbers!
I said the same thing to my Toyota/Ford dealer ... his response ?? Corollas lease exceptionally well .... $999 down and $89 a month gets you in a brand new LE Corolla. People jump all over that deal.

Now that shows what is really happening with the 2012 Focus in USA
What???

When did the production of the 2012 Focus start (and when was it fully "ramped-up")?

Well Job 1 was in late 2010, but the first actual salable units were built in or around February or March 2011 iirc, since my rental I had back in November of last year was built in March and put into service in early April and had 17k miles by November

That's all skewed by the fact that almost 50% of Focuses went to the fleets in those first few months.

Looks good to me. Enough cars sold to be a viable brand, but maybe not enough that I have to tie a ribbon on the car to distinguish it in the parking lot. Is this like voting in that you want to pick the winning candidate?
