Wow, it's always hard to believe that the Corolla sells so well given it's age and all. I'm sure people like the way the ancient 4 speed auto trans drives compared to a DCT and how it only delivers a rated 26/34 MPG with a 1.8L 130 HP engine. I guess people buying them are searching for a car that has a rep. for reliability or something. The Focus is still beating the Cruzer and the Dart has some serious catching up to do on sales numbers!

It happens, also July is the model year change for ford, so maybe there wasn't enough on the lots for consumers liking.. wishful thinking maybe.

For me as long as the focus outsell the Cruze im happy!

End of year folks want a deal. Saving money, not looking for the best car. Plus i bet all the Focus left on dealer lots are ones no one else wanted.
I blame the dealers for refusing to order 'difficult' colors.
I had to travel 60 miles away from a 1.5 million metro area with a dozen Ford dealers just to find a Yellow stick SE last August.
Around here, the dealers all have ONLY ugly cars in stock.
Why i have no idea, but they relish ordering bland cars.. And just seem to hate ordering any bright color, unless it is for a customer order.

I wish it would keep beating the Elantra as well, but I guess we can't have everything.

I think there may be something to that because I recently drove through my local dealer's lot (about 2 weeks ago) and didn't see any Focuses.

The Focus is also still suffering (deservedly) from the DCT and MyFordTouch issues, which will scare lots of shoppers away. In addition to bad press, I expect many owners hesitate to give an unqualified recommendation to others for the same reason. Under the circumstances it's doing pretty well.

Bland sells cars. Why do you think the MKVI Jetta sells better than the MKV? Or why the Corolla is the top compact car. Accords, Camrys, and other vanillamobiles are always the top sellers.

Ford will always build you a Focus, just the way you like it...thats what I did.

umm not they won't, since they are packaging everything, IE the ST, you only get 3 options, but sooo many want it their way, not Ford's. But I still love my SE Sport
