What trouble? Half inch spacers with Washers on passenger mount? or the tune for the bigger motor? I dont see the downside...

I didnt build a auto, want a manual, but THAT is much trouble.. not as easy as swapping a motor out... tranny needs so much more..

I am thinking of swapping the engines on my cars, putting the 2.3L in the manual to get the Turbo

The 2004's came with the 2.3

the 2005's came with the 2.0

Surprisingly enough i would get better gas mileage out of my 04 with the 2.3 than my 05 with the 2.0

So better gas mileage and more power. idk why they switched.

There are advantages and disadvantages to each. If you have a perfectly good 2.0L why waste some of your build budget on buying a 2.3L engine then building it?

Why not buy a cheap used engine and be building it over time and ready to go in when finished , little to no down time , a little mone at a time ...

Why go to a 2.3 vs a 2.0 if your building the engine any way ? here is why

Say your making 150 pound foot of TQ with the 2.0 , so 150 devided by 2.0 = 75 , 75 x 2.3 = 172.00 thats a gain of 22 pound foot of TQ , there is nothing you can buy that would add that 20-22 pound foot of tq to a 2.0 engine

Everyone gets cought up in the HP # , its the TQ you want to be building

HP gets you to the track , TQ gets you down the track

Amen... My 2.3L pulls much longer then my 2.0
I love the 2.0l dont get me wrong, but if I invested in a rebuild... I would go 2.3L Unless he is wanting to keep it authentic to the Saleen

Mine had terrible gas mileage stock and it still does but at least it makes sense now.

I didn't plan on rebuilding...yet the timing was unexpected so I had to replace the motor. I found one for 300. Still didn't plan on building cause I was broke. I still owed money on the car at that time so there was no extra funds. Then the tornado hit Alabama and ford offered a no payment for 3 months to the affected areas which I was apart of. (Thanks ford to stepping up) Now I had money to use and a local friend dying to open up his first duratec. If it was a planned build the d23 would be in my car right now, but I am very happy with the car and its potential. If anyone has a turbo d23.... come get you some!
