How did the brakes hold up? I wasn't going to go to the track until i put bigger brakes on

I really like the Continental ExtremeContact DW (dedicated summer tire)
The DWS is a pretty good all season tire as well.

I've heard great things about the Hankook Ventus V12 as well.

As always, your "mileage" may vary.

I love the tread pattern along with the disappearing DWS in the tread.

I replaced mine at around 12k with about 6/32 left of tread. Im running kuhmo ecsta all seasons 215/35/18(upgraded wheels too) Theyre a great tire and handle phenomenal even at a low profile.

at 16000 miles, with rotation at every oil change, they are showing more than 70% tread left on the tire...It only gets aggresively driven when I'm in it (about 10 pecent of the time). mY wife drives very gently, except she loves hugging curbs...I showed her what that does to wheels and tires, and now she minds the curbs!

I've run the car hard a total of 80 minutes or so on the track, and the brakes have held up great. I was glad to learn that the disc/drums on my S model work excellently through a 20 minute session. It was 102 degrees when I left Willow Springs about 3 pm on July 8th. After the last run the front brakes were literally smoking. I'm betting the disc/disc setup on your Titanium would work even better.

I'm hoping I'll have money for wheels when it comes time for tires. The stock 15s have too much sidewall and roll too much on turns. I need something with a stiffer side and less flex the way I drive.

Goodyear Eagle GT's are likely going on the second Focus...

Thanks for the info, good to know the stock brakes are pretty good.

That's what I ran on my Grand Prix...excellent tire! The people here have me leaning toward Conti DWS, though.
