Just got my ZX3 going again this past weekend and took it for a little drive. These cars are a fun to drive and the kids enjoy it as well. Just wanted to say hello, if you have any questions I can try and help (have a little tech. experience).

Thanks, there seem to be more folks than i though in the area that work on these cars. What was going on with your ZX3?

Well, I got a new truck in 2008 and the car sat for about 1.5 yrs. I did the timing belt, water pump, engine mount, and an oil change. I drove the car for about three to four months and then I had a wheel bearing in the back that started going out; then the car sat for almost nine months. I replaced the rear wheel bearings (rear drums and shoes), the car started up and ran just fine (after I replaced the battery).

All I need to do know are tires, a SVT suspension kit, and an exhaust system from the header on out the back (replace the flex pipe and back).

This car is not my daily driver and is a weekend car/travel car. It may not be the best looking car, but its paid for.

A lot of work went in to get it going again but at least you were able to do it yourself. It helps having another car handy. Mine's finally paid off now so i plan on keeping it and getting the wife a truck sometime in the future so i can work on it and have a spare car to drive. Next time we have a meet you should come out an shoot the breeze with us.

I will try and make it out, I have been looking at doing some of the SCCA AutoX down at Oak Mtn. Amphitheater. I have the days marked and may try to go on the 28th and check it out. I also read some people are looking for a good road to drive, I used to drive South Shades Crest (from exit 1 on 459 to about exit 10); I have also thought about doing a 459 side roads drive. You drive to exit 1 on 459 and then drive to exit 32 without using the interstates. I have also driven Hwy 25 and it is a lot of fun.

Our last meet was at the amphitheater watching the event, it was really hot at the time though, like 102 lol. The last time i ran in the auto-x was when they were at the dog track on derby parkway.

I actually live on exit 1 and that shades crest rd is nice, i also found a back road that curves like a rally stage back there. Even the road changes to pressed/ loose gravel to tarmac. The next meet is planed to be a driving meet and Hwy 25 most likely will be the area chosen.
