It's 2.5" duals with an x pipe and no cats. I may bump it up to 3" if I get a blower, this motor is n/a as it sits.

2.5" was figured out a long time ago to be the best all motor exhaust for the focus.. End of conversation.

OK--it's been on for over a month. You still lovin' it? Most importantly, if you had it to do over again, would you still go Borla?

I do enjoy it, no loss in MPG, SOTP says there is a gain but only the dyno would prove that; it is a little louder inside the car but from outside there is a difference, when my wife has driven the car I can hear he leaving/coming back.

Install was easy with two people and a sawzaw, took about an hour.

I have nothing to compare it to but I have used Borla on every other vehicle I have owned and never regretted it...the only down side is they are made to order so there is a delay between ordering and receiving the exhaust.

Would be sweet if you could get a sound clip.

Or, if you would, check out my custom Borla exhaust thread and listen to the sound clips. It's basically your exhaust, except with 2.5" piping.

Obviously the camera picks up more sound than you actually hear, but I'd be interested in how similar they sound to you.

A nice table at the bottom of this page about exhaust size and the torque.

Given the fact that our 2012 FF is a CID 121 et le the best exhaust diameter for it seems to be 2"-1/4 or 2"-1/2.

Edit: changed the CID to 121. Because of the HP, I think the max for the exhaust of the FF would be 2.5"

Yes, you are right. My bad.
I was thinking of HP and that we can think of using the 200 CID to set the exhaust diameter and everything was mixed in my head and the result was not pretty.

Regardless, 2.5" looks like it is a MAX value for this car. I'll be happy with 2 or 2.25 when I replace my lunchbox with a SIDO muffler for twice pipes.
