I keep hitting it and sometimes knocking the GPS out of its mounting.
Guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and get the passengers side vent version.
IMHO this one may not even be safe because it gets in the way too often.
See if they'll exchange it? I debated the drivers vs passenger side and finally went with the passenger side. My GPS can either be portrait or landscape, so it may have worked on the drivers side, but it is almost perfect on the passenger side in either orientation.

Just another idea for those out there looking for something else. I had a Kuda Base in my 04 and will be getting one for my 12, The are a bit more expensive, but looks more like stock and its a great product, The one in my 04 is 7 years old and still going strong.

http://www.kudausa.com/kuda-custom-l...2012-k656.html

for someone looking for a cleaner look this might be a better option.

SkyPilot you just made me all confused posting this awesome mount. What really concerns me though, if it's easy to reach or not with my left hand.

I think the center console Kuda is perfect for a phone mount, but too low for a GPS. I like the GPS in the middle so my FO can program the nav while I fly.

they will only exchange it if you have NOT installed your device to the mount, I know because I made the mistake of getting the center mount. The Ford Focus 2012-2013 - ProClip Center Mount, ends up being to close to the steering wheel, and imo is almost unsafe.

They told me I should have dry fit the Ford Focus 2012-2013 - ProClip Center Mount first, which I did and had no problems until I actually mounted something to it.

So I recommend NOT getting the Ford Focus 2012-2013 - ProClip Center Mount, and opt out for the other ones, or another Mfg. completely who are not such p#^@$ about returning something, even if you plan on purchasing another mount for an entirely different application. DO I SOUND BITTER?

I'm sorry to hear that the Pro-Clip center mount isn't working for you. I use mine to hold my iPhone 4s. The clip fits perfectly, adjusts smoothly and solidly holds my phone. Anything larger than my iPhone could prove to be a problem.

As far as their return policy - well it sucks. It's misleading because you have to fully read the entire policy. (in the 1st statement - it says they accept returns. Most people would stop reading after that - including myself)

THIS IS FROM PRO CLIP WEBSITE http://www.proclipusa.com/customer-c...s/returns.aspx
Returns

Refund Policy
You may return a product purchased from ProClip USA, Inc. for a full refund (less the original shipping costs) if returned within 30 days of purchase. In some cases a restocking fee may be applied to the returned products. To request a refund, please contact our returns department by email or telephone to obtain an RMA number. To receive a refund, all parts must meet our requirements as explained in our Terms & Conditions below.

(this appears later on the page, sadly)

Terms & Conditions
No products shipped hereunder may be returned without ProClip’s prior approval. In order to return a product, buyer must obtain a RMA# (Return Merchandise Authorization Number). All returns must be made within thirty (30) days of the invoice date and include proof of purchase. The product must be in undamaged and unused condition, meaning: NO screw can be screwed into any product, not even into the pre-drilled holes, NO holes punched through a product, NO scratches or screw marks, and NO Velcro tape etc. We reserve the right to withhold a refund if we deem the product as damaged/used. In some cases a restocking fee may be applied. A copy of your original order or invoice must accompany a return. ALL COMPONENTS PERTAINING TO THE ORIGINAL PART MUST BE RETURNED.
