what if you have a base model system like me?
Well, the wiring harness and antenna adapter are necessary no matter what.

As far as the Sync retention interface, I believe that might be for control of the second (little) screen, just to be able to access the menu and change the date.

Might be worth contacting metra, though.

You dont suppose there is a supplier who would offer a discount for a group buy. Ebay is the only place ive seen this so far.

I haven't seen anyone install it yet. If the steering wheel controls work as well as being able to retain control of the little upper screen, this will no doubt be the best option for upgrading the stock stereo. There's no other options out there, aside from the ACV kit (which I have), but with that, you lose the steering wheel controls and the little upper screen.

Just waiting for someone to be the test monkey since I already was for the ACV kit.

ok i guess to use the steering volume buttons ti work with this metra kit you will need the AXXESS well hope they do not take to long!! many are waiting for this option..
and i agree i prefer the metra option so as to retain the small screen above etc.

although the other kit i mentioned above do look wicked!

That was almost exactly the question I sent back to them.

I don't know how it could unless the people who bought this kit, don't have SYNC and used the earlier model interface XSVI-5524-NAV that Metra list on the instructions.

Do you know anything about the one above? I'd get it if I knew of anyone having luck with it.
