Rough Idle

I recently purchased a 2008 Focus SES and it has a rough idle. If you all noticed most of the intake parts are plastic....ya! So I started looking at the connections and found one of them appeared to be secure but it was actually cracked and loose. Fortunately it had a male type plug so I wrapped tape around the outside and inserted it back into the manifold and wrapped wire around it to hold it in place....It idles Great!. I couldn't believe how easy that was...you all might want to check for cracked fittings!

Ive got a 01 with ztec 259648 miles same idle il be fixing but first battery causea weak batt willcause alot of problems shuttin stuff off. I will be lookin for leak as well thanks for yhis helpfull thread

It has a hard plastic core with rubber elbows one on each end. One of my rubber elbows was in real bad shape So I replace it with High temp Silicone tubing. and has been runing great ever since. Hope this helps out a lot of people.

Yes. It's called a PCV hose. Do not ask for a crankcase ventilation hose. You'll get the wrong one. I went through a hassle with rockauto because they had it listed in the wrong category and I got stiffed with the wrong one. You want this.

It's the newer version. It's mounted under the plastic intake manifold on the back of a Zetec. They wear out and collapse, or just split altogether. Do a search and you'll see plenty of pics. https://www.google.com/search?num=10....1.Gp0CtY_4Hhc

im having a horrible miss in my engine. replaced the plugs, wires, and coil. took the injectors off and checked them and they were all spraying good. any more ideas? the car only has 80,000 miles. 2000 model split port 2.0

Have you read the entire thread? Because it sounds like you have checked everything but the possible vacuum leaks the thread is about.
