a/c is SERIOUSLY robbing power

So my problem is that if i turn my ac on power level4 right after starting my car, it feels like the car struggles to keep up... at idle..
I know that any small displacement engine has issues with feeling the a/c while driving, but at idle? im worried..

basically, itll make all the lights flutter, and the rpms will shudder, like the a/c is a bit too much juice and is making the whole car want to shudder and shut off.

any toughts? itll do it periodically with a few big shudders occasionally

It's also been ~100 degrees out lately....When idling, the air the car pulls in can get to over 170 degrees. That alone will KILL the power.

You said as soon as the car starts up you put it on. Try putting it on as if you are to put heat on in the winter. Wait till the cars at normal operating temps and report back if shutters and dimming still occur. And ye, it looses a good amount of drive ability in the speed dept when the AC is on

You do know you have an SPI... right?




Seriously though, start the car with the windows down and drive around a bit to get the car to operating temps before kicking it on. That should help quite a bit.
