help with bugs! (cleaning them off)

I am struggling to clean bugs off my wife's yellow blaze. The manual recommends a cleaning mit but it's really hard using it to get the bugs off. I've heard that you need to be careful with the special clear-coat paint.

Anyone have a tip/trick for cleaning off bugs? Soft brush, etc.?

What kind of solution are you using? If you haven't already tried some, diluted simple green will probably help break down all the gunk. Just make sure to try it on a hard to see area before applying it all over.

^ emphasis on diluted.

Though, I don't have the balls to use that on my paint.

Simple Green won't damage paint. It will remove wax though.

But Simple Green is also corrosive, so rinse very well.

Well, corrosive to bare aluminum...

I have a tip that will help with cleanup next time. If you know you're going to be in a situation where you will be driving through a lot of bugs, spray a thin coat of cooking spray (Pam) on the paint. When you get home, the bugs will wipe right off, and the vegetable oil won't hurt your paint at all and won't strip the wax.

We used to be able to use it on aircraft, then the military decided that it wasn't a good idea...

I also believe in the use of Pledge for a pre-trip covering...

That's because it's corrosive to bare aluminum.
