yea. i thought the same thing but i mean if ford put it on like that then it wont fail. just tighten it down as hard as you can. car should settle once you drop it down. h&r makes some nice springs

Starting to understand what Ford did there (thanks). By having the spring coil a little tighter at the top they were able to eliminate the extra metal seat and have it rest on the support. The M-18000-ZX3B dampers also came with the support you have pictured, I'll compare them to my stock ones to see if they are the same.

I am having a had time telling. Did your springs also reduce down to a 4" at the bottoms as well? It looks like the M-18000-ZX3B struts themselves have a 6" seat. I'm a little surprised that the coil doesn't try to move around.

Hopefully later today I can pop the front tire off and take a closer look on how the stock suspension is set-up.

That might be a tough one, I don't think i have seen any 1" drop springs. much less anyone wanting to run them.

Well, if you got the omni-kit and the SVT suspension kit, that would be approx an inch, perhaps just a bit less.

I thought the true SVT kit only lowers .5" that would leave you .5" short

The 2nd Gen Focus is a bit higher than a stock ZX3 (which is what the kit was designed for) so it would drop a second gen approx .75"
