Oh those favorites ... I mis-read your post and thought you meant the favorite buttons on the steering wheel. Sure those favorites should work fine.

Also there is a Sync sticky thread as well, you must have missed it.

I opened the door (IA, touched handle to unlock) and the car started blasting electronic noises out of all the speakers at full volume. Volume controls did not have any effect on it, nor did powering the car on into accessory mode (hitting start button without foot on brake). Sounds only went away when I actually started the engine.

Hope it didn't blow out any of the speakers!
I had 2 seperate occurence of this on my SEL. Dealer has no idea, so far, what is the problem. If you follow this link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKISw8RcUFw), you will see exactly what mine did. Luckilly, it hasnt ''freaked '' like this in some months. This problem arose when I pressed the lock button on my key. So my guess (and its really a guess) is that it must be related in some way with the locking mecanism.

I knew I'd heard of at least a couple folks on here running into this before - thanks for posting. It's the first time it's happened in my car but, if nothing else, I think it certainly proves that my system isn't totally healthy!

Yours sounds more like Stomp, whereas mine reminds me from the opening of Independence Day at the SETI farm...

If you take it in to be fixed 3 times or more and you're without your car...does the lemon laws come into play?

You'd have to look into your local lemon laws, but for here it is my understanding that it is 3 times for the same issue without fixing it, not the same component. If you can find a dealer that will look at your car three times for the same issue that they can't do anything about and write it up every time, more power to you.

I believe the current theory is that the audio driver isn't properly loading when the mft boots when you unlock the car.

Do a site search on that exact phrase and see how many times he has used it. Once, even for a thread title.
