Has anyone else had any issues with the downstream O2 sensor on their SVT? For some reason, mine only has about 1/8" clearance between the end of the sensor and the drive axle, and whenever I hit a bump that jars the exhaust system (it happens, this is Texas), it destroys the sensor. I'm not the original owner, and I'm thinking the previous owner changed the exhaust or something to change the placement of the cat. I've gone through about 4 sensors in the past 6 months. I searched the forums, but didn't find anything. I searched the forums to no avail, but if anyone has any pointers or tips I'd appreciate it. Thoughts?

This is the last one I pulled last weekend:

What's tom's screen name? Is it just Turbo Tom?

I know I am free but mel's friend will be in town to hang out so I might have to get drug along to something but am going to try and make it a girls day out so we can do the LED work.

I've spent too long looking into the abyss. It's starting to look back.

His screen name is 1turbofocus. Usually you can find him in the ecu & focus power forums.

Hopefully they will make it a girls day so we can do leds. If not its no biggie. There are always other days.

Yes. that is a common issue. That's why many aftermarket pipes have the 2nd O2 sensor hole coming out from the side as oppose from the top. That only happens when the bracket is broken.

Well I'm glad I'm not alone then. Thanks for the info. Now to break the news to my wife that I "need" an aftermarket exhaust...

Good luck MikeW328. If she doesn't go for it. An exhaust shop can redrill a new side hole for you and plug the original hole until you get that aftermarket exhaust.
