As for tints, I should be getting them within a few weeks, with my graduation money. Not too sure about lowering it, cuz the car is still technically my dad's and he probably wouldn't let me. And wheels, I really want but don't have the money for :( not on my Burger King wages anyways.

Keep your chin up bro. If you want it, keep working and you'll make it happen. There are plenty of wheels out there that would bolt on nicely to your Escort I bet. What's the bolt pattern?

You could probably get a nice setup (wheels and tires) for less than $800. It's achievable.

It's 4x100, so it shares patterns with some Civics, non-ss Cobalts, and a few other cars. I'm going to start looking at the end of the month for a set at around $250 or so.

Even better. You can get almost anything you want in that size. Post the sets you're thinking of, we'll try to steer you clear of the crappy ones. For cheaper (but awesome) tires, I recommend General Altimax HPs. I have them in 205/15/65 and they rock, completely transformed the car (and I only paid 105 per tire).

Used is okay, depends on what kind. I wouldn't go crazy spending lotsa $$$ on new wheels, it is your first car after all. No reason to buy Volks or something, lol.

Make sure they're in good condition (rash, cracks, etc.) and you'll be fine. Just don't buy anything that was crap when it was new, lol.

What's a good place to buy them? Craigslist doesn't seem to have much in my price range.

Good place to get some ideas, you'll see what kind of new wheels are available at least.

Used I'm not sure, aside from CL. But Tirerack is a start in your search. Be patient, young padawan.

very nice tail lights man i like how they blend. and as for wheels, you should look all over craigslist, even if it's an hour or two away. sometimes people are willing to drive a bit. plus civic wheels are super common, at least around here.
