I bought my slicks lightly used from a member on FJ. They're Mickey Thompson 24.5 x 8 x 15 tube-type drag slicks. I had them on my stock 15" wheels for a while, I'll try to find a pic. I now have them on 15 x 8 5 star drag wheels.

17" wheels are horrible for drag racing. They're too heavy. That's one advantage the Honda definitely has on you is unsprung reciprocating wheel weight. You'd do better to drop down to 15" wheels, even stockers. The less the wheel/tire weight and the more centered the weight to the center of the wheel, the better.

I cut a 2.01 60ft with an open diff with them on my last focus....

jegs can get you slicks pretty fast some 22x8x15 will do fine on a NA setup

2.0 is a bad 60ft on a drag radial. when i was stock i could hit 2.1 on falken tires

for me, i was pleased...especially with an open diff, and at the time me being an inexperianced driver.

most other FWD cars were running 2.3+ 60 foot times that day...


to be fair, i have not used any other drag radial to compare to the BFG's, and this was also 5+ years ago.

sorry wasn't trying to discourage you. BFG need a long burnout to make them work decent. there compound isn't that great. they wear fast and don't have near the grip of say a mickey tompson drag radial.

slicks run around 200 depending on where you look.

Yeah.... don't run slicks. You don't have enough power to make use of them.

First time on a drag strip you need to keep it simple otherwise you will embarrass yourself.
