I really wouldn't be going much past that point anyway but 200hp at the crank is enticing and bumps the Focus into a better perfromance category.

My Type R had 195 stock and dynoed 174 to the wheels so 200crankhorse from the Focus sounds like a solid number we can refer to with failry simple mods. I'm still quite impressed wityh these gains.

That would be up to whoever is servicing your vehicle.

My car was at ford yesterday getting two recalls down and an oil change, nothing was mentioned about my mods. But it comes down to the dealer. My last focus was modded to the hilt even while in warranty and they didnt care since they got paided for the job by ford

Your warranty will remain intact. If warranty claims are denied, it will have to be proven that your aftermarket parts were the source of the damage.

Still not 200 crank horespower is my point. I'm not trying to bash the almost 30whp gain. Just saying it is what it is.

The 2013 GT500 is in the same boat. Ford rates the engine hp at 650 but it was recently dynoed at 614rwhp. That's only 5% drivetrain loss..... So either Ford has discovered a miracle drivetrain which seems to defy the laws of physics or Ford is in the game of under rating their hp figures.

Which are you more likely to believe?

I totally agree that's probably the case. I'm just saying there is no way to prove it without pulling a stock engine and putting it on an engine dyno. (Which is the only accurate way to measure an engine's output anyway.) Chassis dynos show gains, but aren't the most accurate way of figuring out true horsepower. He gained, 27whp or so, which is awesome. Probably could get 5 more with a tune.

There are A LOT of moving parts going on throughout your drivetrain... please don't concern yourself with whether your alternator is 'engaged' or not.

Right, so why argue the estimated crank numbers as you did in post #53? Your method of calculation is equally as bogus as FocusBoy58s--by assuming that Ford numbers are correct, rather than assuming a typical parasitic loss, as FocusBoy58 was. You were willing at that point, and up until your latest post, to estimate without putting it on an engine dyno.

I don't want it to be up to the opinion of the service person but I figure an exhaust and intake isn't very intrusive and really isn't altering the mechanics of the car but those mods are a few months away. Rims,tint and a rear spoiler are first.
