Sound Deadening Questions? Dynamat? Alternatives?

Anyone installed Dynamat or simular products in the MK3 Focus? Some of the roads in Texas are a bit noisy for my likening and hopefully help with the Drone from my FSWerks Race Exhaust and looking to install some on the roof to help with microphone, so I don't have to yell at people when I am talking to them. Anyone have some cheaper but effective alternatives to Dynamat? Thanks!

How do you want it to look? egg crate shaped foam is a good price/performance but it will not look good on your roof, would be better under the seats or somewhere not visible.

I know there are similar products on ebay that cost less than Dynamat... you can use it in your trunk or around the wheel wells (if you have the time)... tends to help with road noise (ie. tires), but not wind or exhaust sounds (why get a loud exhaust just to sound deaden anyways?).

It's quite heavy stuff, too.

I am more concerned with the road noise more than anything. The road noise on a few of the roads I travel on daily is a bit annoying. It has nothing to do with my Focus because when I get a nice road its crazy quiet. I would like to dampen the drone the exhaust creates at least a little, but not the exhaust sound.

LOL! I have to turn the radio up on some roads. I don't call people while I am driving, but I do answer a call via Bluetooth. Usually its my wife or my NCO's. Its pretty important that I get what I need to say across clearly, so I don't repeat myself a million times.

I miss my younger days, when the CB was the only form of communication between vehicles (and NO - I did not have one....)

I would like to add soundproofing as well there is less noise transmitting through the oem bluetooth anyone do this yet? I have the dynamat already I was just looking to see if anyone had done this or had good results.

Any links to interior removal?

If I was going to add some sort of sound dampening, I would install the best simply for the performance and as well as the potential resale value. (not that you will get your money back, but the car will definitely stand out from the rest)
