I see a light impression on my hood insulation with it. I am gonna sprinkle some flour on the seal and see if it transfers and take a picture of it and post it here tomorrow.

That black cable just to the right of the battery box is the negative cable. You don't even have to take the cover off the battery box to disconnect it.

Here are some pictures I took after I sprinkled some flour on the seal of the intake and closed the hood. I also took the picture with the prop rod down so people could see that too. It does latch on the yellow latch.

Thanks Craig! It's a little difficult to tell from the picture, but it looks like only a partial seal. Can you confirm that?

Isn't that black cable just grounding the battery to the car? If this is the case, simply removing this does not necessarily mean the battery is disconnected from the electronics.

It makes a complete seal. The wind blew most of my flour into the engine bay. Wind was giving me a hard time.

Try it sometime... It defaults your ECM, and your entertainment system. Without the battery being grounded to the frame, there's no circuit for electrons to flow.

I've done this procedure twice to reset MFT faults and to reinitiate learning mode on my ECM.

I agree with the K&N guy, safety first. However, I also want my ECM to be reset to learn the new airflow settings with the first restart after install.

If you remove the battery cover you can clearly see that ground point connects directly to the battery.
