Wow, that roll restrictor is a dead simple design, I might have to have a go at making one . . .

I moved here from a 99 Cougar, so a 4 banger is new to me and I have had zero time to get in there and see how things are put together. How are the motors held up in these cars? In the Cougar you had a mount on the passenger side of the motor and a mount on the trans on the driver side. The mounts basically let the motor hang in the engine bay. Then you had a roll restrictor in the front and rear to keep the motor from rotating/keep vibrations down. People usually filled the restrictors with poly to do what you're doing here.

Let me know if you guys have any questions. The mount fits the 12' focus well but the nut and bolt we supply currently need swapped out for a 14mm x 1.25 of equivalent length.

Good luck though!
feta_mgp,
Sorry if I've rubbed you the wrong way. You are correct, sometimes I take criticism too personally. I'll work on it.

Thumbs up

Okay, I was looking for a mount that would allow the engine and transmission to feel more connected while still being refined. I also wanted options...

Soooo... I replaced the stock mount with a take-off MS3 mount that will allow me the option of installing poly inserts later. The results are excellent.

MS3 mount...

Stock mount... (almost totally rubber!)

Well, it is great. No annoying vibrations and the shifts are much more precise. Next oil change I am going to try the Corksport inserts. They were great on my MS3.

Yes, the stock mount is VERY bad. No wonder you can get a new one from Ford for like $25. Not much there...

Do you think if I replaced my (May build) stock mount I'll stop getting the vibrations at idle?

You will still have some, but I think that is a transmission/side mount and not the rear one.
