yeah it was a pain. i just hope my pulley wheel is as cheap at the local bumper to bumper as it is on rockauto. i guess it don't matter as long as i get my car running again. i can't drive my dad's pos merc villager anymore. lol

Rocking the villager is badass, my dad had the windstar with the sweet five spoke wheels. lol

installed the new idler pulley today. it was a pain, had to hack off about 1/2" and loosen motor mounts. was putting the belt on and realized the spring in the tensioner pulley is shot, so gotta pick up a used one tomorrow.

old plastic pulley vs. the new metal pulley.


the blank end is what i cut off the new one, plus a couple mm off the thread. still threaded on nicely. (pic is old bolt, the new one was installed before this pic.)


oh, and i removed the stupid home depot upper grille. next is to get bolts for the tinted ford emblem and put that on til i work out this trade for the svt grille.




now i'm off to the salvage yard, wish me luck on finding a good tensioner pulley!
