Movement in the motor before it makes you move causes hesitation, slower acceleration and less response to your commands... Not to mention traction is increased by a large amount from no engine transfer.

So how easy is this to put in yourself? Do you need to use a motor crane to support the engine from the top while doing this? I'm very interested in having this done, my Deville had a lot more and torque braces than the focus has, although in fairness it needed them much more. Notice the thick pillars on the front right and left of the engine. These were in addition to standard side and bottom mounts as well as a similar setup on the bottom rear.


Compared to the engine bay of the Focus.


Also about how much would this part cost?

The mount in question does not support the weight of the engine.

Stiffer engine and transmission means more traction. The motor mounts are essential for anyone looking to drive the car even a little.spirited.

I did some research on the stock mount and it is different enough that the inserts for a 3 or MS3 will not work. Soooooo, I ordered something to try and I hope to have install pics and info by mid-week if USPS gets on the ball.
