Something weird like the old index/BVC info not being totally wiped out during the update and then the new info being written over (or partially over) it and confusing the system. I don't know. Something is up here.
Even with music for me it's become better. Occasionally with music it'll still give me a crazy list of completely unrelated songs, but usually it gets it spot on for me.

And guess what I can change screens just fine without looking because the buttons are in the same spot always and it becomes 2nd nature.
The point of changing screens without having to look should explain itself. More time to keep your eyes on the road. Once you've switched to that screen a quick glance to hit the button you need to hit is going to have to happen of course, but that split second that you can keep your eyes forward could make all the difference.

The dodge system looks good to me too, but the quadrant system on MFT is more intuitive to me. Each corner having it's own function and then top middle/bottom middle buttons is a very simple, easy to use setup that should become second nature the first or second time you use it, the most challenging part being to remember what quadrant corresponds with what function. The dodge system on the other hand places them all in a row at the bottom, it's going to take longer to remember just how far to move your finger without real buttons down there, and even then you might hit the wrong one by accident, much less chance of that with MFT with the corner layout.

I think estoyloco has a good point, though... Changing screens isn't difficult without looking at it, not that it matters really. Everyone glances at the screen all the time, to look at all kinds of information, navigation, current audio info, so what's the difference if some have to glance to change the quadrant? Although, they're colour coded, massive, and permanently fixed buttons.. so I'm not sure how hard it could be to remember which corner does what.

I do agree that MFT is much easier to use than the Dodge/Chrysler system... even the 6.5" system many of them have. They take some serious getting used to... But at least they're snappy as you swim through all the various screens.

Is there anyway to remove the quadrants off the home screen in 3.0? I liked it better when my wallpaper was shown in full. I can't figure out if they moved that option to another screen.

No longer an option.

Keep meaning to ask this of those with Nav but also keep forgetting. This is one that has been happening to me since the update (well, since I got my new Nav card a week and half after I updated). Haven't really seen anyone report it on here but it is possible I just missed it.

When I switch from the map screen to any of the other three screens (home screen not included) my street location is not in the Nav tab. Compass heading is there but no street location. I initally thought it was only going from map to Ent quad but further playing around showed me it happens whether I go to Ent, Climate, or Phone from the map screen. If I then go to either of the two remaining screens street location is back in the Nav tab (and I can hop right back to the screen I initally went to after map and it is there, unlike when I initally entered that screen from the map screen).

While my randomly disappearing street location under the compass on the home screen is exactly that, random and sporadic, this one is 100% repeatable, completely consistent in its behavior. Again, I don't remember seeing this one brought up by anyone else but that doesn't mean it wasn't. Wondering if others with Nav have this quirk or if I am just "lucky".

Thanks but that was what I was afraid of. Drat. For the most part it always worked in the old version for me but even on the rare (vey rare) occassions it asked for me to select, I could look at the titles of the songs it asked me to pick from and see how they could be interpreted as close in name and/or sound. These new lists are just nuts!

One thing I think I've noticed (and I say think because I have to test this under more semi-controlled conditions) is that if I have been using the song skip button from the steering wheel regularly for a bit and then try a "Play Song" command it is even worse. Sometimes I'll set a song by voice and when it is over I'll let things run in alphabetical order from there just for the randomness of it. If I'm not in a mood to hear a song I'll skip it with that button and so on and so forth. Eventually I'll get bored and tell it to play another song but it seems even worse after I have been performing the proceeding skips.

I need to find a song that will work from voice the first time and then run a few more controlled trials with skips and without.

I posted the exact same thing a few days ago......MFT customer service is "clueless" as they told me that the street location should "not" be displayed there when you are on the home/4-quad screen. Duh, I said, it was there for days and then randomly it disappeared. I figured out that if I set a destination in the Nav system then it would show up again. This whole MFT fiasco is "so Mickey Mouse" and entry level at best!

Thanks Blizzard but this is not the issue I was referring to (but I did respond to your post and offered an opportunity to have a little fun with the sync specialists). I am well aware of the disappearing street location under the compass and the set route/cancel route fix. I figured that fix out by accident shortly after the first time it happened to me back in March. This issue has to do with street location not appearing in the actual Nav tab when I switch to another screen from the map (not the home screen). While my "disappearing street location under the compass" problem on the home screen is sporadic, the "no street location in the Nav tab when going to another screen" is completely consistent.

Objection, your honour! Counsel is assuming facts not in evidence!

I took my Focus in to the dealer to get my summer wheels and tires swapped, and got an involuntary downgrade to MFT3 in the process. It's even more of a dog's breakfast in actuality than I had feared from the reports and screenshots I saw here. Now I get to figure out how much time I allow Ford to fix this before I start car-shopping.

Welcome to the club Hillbilly. I feel your pain! It would be an easier pill to swallow if it even came close to being this "magic bullet" that Ford made it sound like it would be but at this point all I can keep telling myself is:

"It may still be broken, but at least it is ugly (and less functional)!"
