apples to oranges.. you cannot compare a svt to a boosted civic... now boost vs boost is a fair match

To some (including me), stretch and poke simple doesn't make since. I know it's a controversial issue and to all their own, but there is no performance gains from stretching and poking your tires. Therefore, it's in the same category as fake hood scoops in my book.

In defense of stretching, most do it to go lower, tuck the tire further into the fender, and prevent rubbing. It all centers around the car being lower. In which case performance gains are really irrelevant since they aren't built for performance.

Now, stretched tires on a car where you can fit your head between the tire and fender, yeah that is useless.

just bc he is boosted doesnt mean he can actually drive it. There are a lot of "kids" around here who hook up their cars bc its the "cool" thing to do and cant wheel their ride to save their lives! ALSO...there are a lot of inter-FOOLERS running around these days as well. On the chance it is for real. I would NEVER race him to find out--Im a single parent and chose not to do stupid things that I can avoid. If he wants to take it to the track...ok lets go...a lot can be said about a car that can handle and a driver who can make it handle when against a car that "has power" bc its boosted or has a monster engine. I cant imagine that civic handles well with that current setup. If he were to win, ok..great for him. After we would and wait for NASCAR to call him.

In other words, it's pretty much all for looks and there will always be the lovers and the haters.

In a nutshell! I like it, but I get that it's not everyone's thing. One of my best friends hates it and rags on me every time he sees me. Whatever tickles your pickle.
