It shows the warranty extension even though I did upgrade my MFT and I reported on the site... Hmmm

Yes, you are my guinea pigs -- you got a problem with that?

I think my timing to buy the Ti may wind up being pretty good because if the DCT problems are in fact largely behind us I won't have had to deal with the problems the early adopters had to. I don't know how I'd feel if I'd bought a year ago and had a year of troublesome driving.

So far the early word has been positive and I hope it stays that way, but know you can't please everyone.

Now lets hope they can truly fix the MFT...

Interesting. I wonder what the effects will be for a DCT that already shifts smoothly with the prior firmware. I wouldn't want mine to shift any smoother than it already is. Refining the anti roll back programming would be nice though. I'll probably hold off on bringing mine in but since it is a recall campaign, Ford will probably want to upgrade it next time I'm in for service.

I recall that the wiper recall was for vehicles built before a certain date.

I'll be calling and going in next week for sure.

The ETIS mentions ABS, but if the work includes a DCT update, that's so much the better. I've not heard any grinding lately but one never knows...

I've not had much in the way of rolling backwards either, but my car's build might be sufficiently new (12/20/2011) and my local dealer does not install every DCT update in every FSB that comes out so freely (which makes sense...)

I wonder why some get "WARRANTY EXTENSION" - when I bought my Focus, I opted for the 70k/72m plan extended warranty... no biggie either way, but am curious on what any differences might be...

There are no differences, but as far as I understand, if doing the MFT update to the version 3, the standard warranty on the system becomes 4 years from start date (purchase date) with unlimited miles.

The quoted "warranty extension" is only for MyFord Touch system upgrade to version 3.x where Ford Extended the base bumper to bumper 3/36k mile warranty to 4/48 for ford vehicles equipped with MFT but only on the MFT system. So its not really a bumper to bumper extended warranty, but rather a targeted extension for the MFT system.

Exactly one year after my car was built, they are resolving the things I have been complaining about and was being ignored about like I was the one that was crazy.

Let's see, updates for DPS6 SHUTTER, DPS6 ROLLBACK, ABS, TCM, WASHER FLUID LOW MESSAGE INOP, OIL CHANGE MESSAGE INOP, POWER STEERING DRIFT, FRONT SUSPENSION CREAK, REAR PARK AID STUCK ON MESSAGE CENTER, PASSENGER WIPER MOTOR.

I will say it again, after owning 20 Ford vehicles, this is the first one I wouldn't own out of warranty. I hope lessons have been learned from this experience.
