I just checked Etis, and the following is shown for my car:
12S29 - PASSENGER SIDE WIPER MOTOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR INSPECTION AND REPAIR 12B37 - , AND THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE After reading the last couple of pages in this thread, I'm still confused as to what the latter does for the transmission, can someone clarify? I still have little faith in the transmission in my car, and at the moment, am not sure it will hold up. Still seems VERY "wonky" . |

Update
I've had my update done on my car for about 2 months (or 2000) miles and I couldn't be more happy. This is the first car that I've owned that wasn't a stick. Since the DCT tranny is really an automated manual transmission, I think some of the quirks can be related to that fact (not trying to discount some folks' problems on this site however). In any case, I hope everyone finds a resolution to their problems if applicable.

Technically a Field Service Action is supposed to function similarly to a recall but without being mandated or required by the government. |

The 12B37 update includes reprogramming of the PCM, TCM and ABS modules and appears to be aimed at addressing issues with the DCT transmission. There is early word that it appears to be a good improvement... Brian |

At my local dealer now getting the trans looked at. The other day, after coming to a stop, when the trans went to shift from 1st to 2nd it acted as if the clutch was re-engaged or it was put in neutral and it revved up to 5k or so, then finally shifted. Felt like it went into third, but didn't verify. As soon as this happened it threw a check engine light (P286F, Clutch "A" Performance Disengagement Too Slow I believe). After that happened the car was almost undriveable, was continuously over-revving when shifting and would not go into "S". This continued until the code was cleared. Unfortunately the dealer had no one available to look at the transmission on Saturday so my car had to sit for the weekend. Prior to this the only symptoms I had seen was the "shudder" in reverse. My build date is June 2011, so I've definitely got one of the older builds on here.
They are doing the update (maybe more) now and hopefully i'll have some good news to report back. |

Just talked to my dealership about the TSB and FSA's that I have on my June '11 build Ti (18,000miles) and he said it was no problem and set up the appointment to have the updates applied without question or explanation of why I wanted to do them. I'm very happy with the customer service so far and hopefully we'll see how it affects drivability once it's complete.
