But, it would work as some sort of heat sink to some point. It doesn't mean hot air needs to come out, it means that air pressure in the engine bay will change causing the heat to sink faster..

But as it is a fully loaded titanium model and not a base model and as I plan on building it for autocrossing I'm just looking to the future. It's deffinetly not the first mod I plan to do to my car, as it looks like I'll have to order it from the UK. That is unless a better looking hood becomes available. I appreciate everyone's comments whether positive or not. In the end I'll know that I will like whatever I do to my car. IfI get it done I will be sure to post many picks and will look forward to more comments then.

Have fun autocrossing it - should be a good car for that.

fellow autox'er here! first race will be June 17th and I'm stoked! If you're wanting to autox then you need some better tires, brakes, and suspension first!

That's what I'm working on. I have the handeling package on it but I would like some better springs and sway bars.

This year I'm gonna race stock. Next year I'm doing wheels, wider street tires, brakes, and sway bars all by the end of the 2013 season which should put me in the ST class coming into 2014. Hopefully by then we'll have some good choices of reasonably priced coilovers...or Koni comes out with their adjustable struts. I def want adjustable dampening and rebound as my car is dual purpose, and some camber plates

Past that I'm looking at a seats and some dedicated rcomps. then we'll be cooking!

BIMMER-BOB is a lurker who is on the site just to stir things up. And for the record my SE is not entry level, the S is. And as far as BMW's, "been there, done that" with a 2001 325i 5 speed sport/premium pkg. ordered new and 2007 X5.

The only people making a big deal about my BMW are the butt hurt ricers. I never once brought it up.
