Hall or MAG
Hi, Im looking for help from somebody.
I have a 2010 ford focus ses which i am turboing. I want to run a piggyback F/IC on it. When I called AEM to ask them what F/IC I need they asked me whether my car was hall or mag. Im not really sure what hall or mag means, I think it has to do with the cam sensor. Does anybody know whether a 2010 ford focus is hall or mag? or does anyone know what F/IC i should get? thanks |

It is a Reluctor (Magnet), not a Hall Effect. The trigger edge is rising and it is a 36-1 trigger type.
Hope this helps. |

I vote SCT. Forget the piggybacking. The stock ECU can do more than enough once its tuned correctly.

There are sooooo many things the aem wont be able to deal with like the adaptive learning trying to over come the aem settings and many many other things

so by SCT you mean the ford programmer? Will that work for putting out 550 hp out of the motor? does it just work through my OBD II sensor

I made over 700HP and used a Ford flasher to do it

Don't listen to Tom, go standalone. It will do way more then the stock ecu will ever think about. Tom talks shit on any standalone that anyone has brought up. His way or the highway.
Most modern fords are mag. |

The OP was talking about using a piggy back type system not a stand alone.
