Steeds uses one of the inlets coming from the front to feed air under the filter and blocks the other since it is not used

Intake looks good

I know it would probably be easy to modify but maybe its a good thing too so that rain coming into the inlet doesn't spray straight onto the filter and get ingested.

Not sure if that makes sense. What do the other designs from Steeda and so on look like? Do they use the air inlets or no.
Like redfocz said steeda uses one of the inlets(the left one.) Personally I think it is a cost thing, they would have to build custom hoses to reconnect and they are still getting a big performance boost, I would really like to compare MAF sensor readings for the obd II port and see the differences in air flow. Newmission's mod should have the highest airflow because it uses 3 inlets(the two stock and his custom one) However if the engine is not starved for air it might not matter.

I personally am building my own airbox, that will use the steeda intake and both stock inlets and new missions mod for cold air from the bumper. But it is already at $90 in parts and i still need some more, probably will cost me $150 and the $210 for the steeda short ram, so not cheap, but I am going to dyno and I will get MAF readings and should be able to have the data to see what is needed.

The most important thing is to isolate it from engine heat. A direct source of air is not as crucial.

i dont know how this is better then a k& n drop in. yes it looks cool but like stated above , where is it getting its air. im going to go with a simple k&n drop in so i can use the inlet air hoses and the price of just the filter alone being 30-40 bucks is a win.

So, after having this for a while what do you think?
I'm looking at a new intake and considering this (probably with the green filter) and I guess the K&N Typhoon. I don't want to spend $250 on the K&N, how is your FSWerks holding up?
I don't know if you ever had it on without the exhaust but I plan on just doing the intake with no exhaust. Did you notice any improvement in sound as well as performance?
Thanks!
