No tuning options, no point in modding...

As long as there's no issues, all this is is prep work so it's ready for a tune in a few months.

Fair enough, but I won't even put and intake on a car if I cant tune it.

So your going to ignore the chance of 30+ whp on a car just for the sake of no tuning? Youll get a couple more horsepower from a tune on bolt ons but remember this isnt a turbo and isnt a built motor its a bolt on car.

Not knocking you dude im just saying your missing out.

Well, if I put a long tube header on the 'ol sedan, it would be with Borla's cat back system with the muffler it comes with, or the usniversal muffler Sleighman used in his dual out let mad. Think that would be quiet enough for a daily driver, or should I forget the header?

BTW: All that would likely be with a Steeda CAI. TY!

I'll agree with ya on this one, once I get my 54 F-100 on the road, I'll look into some more mods

Well first off lets use some more realistic numbers for an intake. Air modification, particularly intakes screw with the MAF calibration. In closed loop its not really an issue because the ECU creates fuel trims to compensate however, when in OL the ECU ignores the fuel trims and fuels totally based of the mass air reading from the MAF. If the MAF isn't calibrated correctly the engine doesn't hit its targeted A:F. In some cars it can be a big issues and cause CEL's, in others its not that big of a deal. I prefer to provide the ECU with the correct information to fuel the engine appropriately. When you start compounding modification without making any adjustments to the tune, you start compounding the fueling errors etc.
