If you're concerned about weight you have to factor in the weight of the brake kit as well. Rotors weight a lot as do multiple piston calipers (I assume thats what this big brake kit has). Both add to unsprung weight and rotating mass. There's a point of diminishing returns.... when big becomes too big.

Kind of wondering why you want a BBK. Is it just for style? A BBK is pretty much overkill for any street application. Hell, even for an autocross application.

There are a number of reasons...

1. If I'm going to upsize my wheels I wanna increase stopping abilities too. I had a stage two package on my WRX and I'm trying to decide between something like that or just go BBK.

2. While some are all about looks and horsepower, I like to be able to dive deeper before having to brake.

3. I almost went with a similar set up on my SVT just before it was totaled. Just playing with ideas for the Mk3.

4. Always wanted Brembos LOL

5. Why not? Big Wheels, big brakes to fill the wheels...

I think our new member is trying to run up his posting numbers for some reason due to the number of unusual one word replies he's been making.

I had been away from FF for awhile, only been back since purchasing the Mk3... I'm very surprised by some of the noob actions, posts and reactions to tried and true Focus companies and Fanatics... I made a noob mistake earlier in this post, but damn... Things are getting bad
