Question about Coilover Install
So i just bought ST coilovers from tire rack for my '07 hatchback. Does anybody have any experience installing these, or is it something that needs to be taken to a shop?

What's your real question? Once they're put together (some require assembly some are delivered totally assembled), they install like any other strut/shock. You need to assess your skills and tool collection (basic assortment of wrenches, sockets, spring compressor, jack stands, etc). You also need to assess the condition of your car (basically how much rust there might be and whether you know how to deal with frozen/seized bolts). It's not difficult if you have average mechanical skills.

I have access to car club's garage full of all the tools i'll need, and i would say i have decent mechanical skills. I was just curious if there was anything involved in the install that would be way out of my league.

post up pics please I was going to get the same coilovers as well not to much info on them other then I believe they are same as the kw's except they are galvanized steel rather then stainless? goodluck though

They seem very similar to my ford racing coil overs (also made by KW), same finish, different color. With that said I was very happy with them. I had 40k miles of happy motoring and autox before I sold them and moved on.

Does anybody have any relevant torque information for this install? This is the first time i'll be working on my car's suspension, so I'm a little in the dark. |
