For Northern Maine winters, my FoFo is as low as it could possibly be without risking damage. I envy folks that can lower their cars an inch and not pay dearly for it in winter. That said, winter up here can be a blast!

To answer your question, here's an interesting thread on ground clearance ... http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=256768. It would appear that our cars are slightly lower than many of the competitor's compact cars.
When I switched my 17's (OEM Titanium size) for winter 15's (OEM S size), she dropped about 1/4 inch.

Will turn over 1k this afternoon on a trip to MI !!!!! I will have to stop along the road and mark the event, probably by letting my wife take over driving!!!! Love the car.
