are you going to have "quick disconnects"/clamps to secure the parts together when they are in the car? might help them from rattling/squeaking during travel

Yes. It may be simply nuts and bolts but there will be something holding everything together and to the car.

Interior build 2.0: Day 1

I ripped most of the old build out yesterday and reinstalled most of the trim. The rest of the floor will come out soon but I still have a lot of stuff stored in there that I don't want to take out of the car yet.




And a hint of things to come. I made this box last week and carpeted it Monday. My plan right now is to do two false floors (one for the hatch area and one for the rear passenger seat area) that will have full storage underneath them and will be carpeted black. There will also be two side compartments that will fit in the side area of the trunk which will fit over the cars trim you see now.




Unfortunately, the interior is largely going to have to wait today because I need to make a carrier for the roof rack. We will see how this goes but I'm starting to get a plan and if all things work out, it should be a pretty neat and handy carrier.
