Chris-as far as timing belt goes Paul and Ray are the gurus of timing belt changes. I would be up to helping with it as well. By the group doing it can save you about $1000 in labor charges. Just saying.

Body shops I have no idea. I will eventually need one myself to fix some of the dings and stuff on my drivers side.

Ya, and savings aside, I Like the idea, I'd love to be able to see and participate, instead of just leaving car somewhere and picking it up a day later. I know there is a risk, but I bought this car for the fun part of having it, so hell yeah let's do it, balls deep into SVT experience :D

And about the tools which are required, hmmm, does anyone have it or should I buy new ones, let me know so I can be sure to have them before next monthly meet.
I'm already looking for the belt and water pump, where did you guys order yours from ?

I think Paul and/or Ray has the timing tools. As for parts some go with Tousley Ford for oem and some like to get the stuff elsewhere like Rock Auto, cfm, massive etc. I personally like oem or gates for the belts. Maybe Paul will chime in at some point with more info. Just be ready cuz it takes 4-5 hours or to do depending on what bs is going on. This would probably be a separate install meet apart from our monthly meet.......maybe.

Btw if you wanted to buy your own set of timing tools I know Massive sells them for about $35.

Wow the world is going to end in 2012 Matt's posting again lol j/k

It should take about 3hrs or less to do you t-belt. Donald knows how fast I can do it when pressured like when his tensioner bolt took a crap and busted on us. I had to get it out of the block, didn't take too long at all. We've done enough that I'm starting run out of fingers to count with lol. I also need to do mine on my SVT I'm at 90k mi soon has I get the cash but I need to buy a front left spindle which is SVT specific first since its the hard the find part. I'm on the stock belt though it looks to be in good shape, many have had them fail before the recommended change interval. It should be changed at 60-80k mi not 100-120k like the other zetec's. You also may want to get water pump also to change at the same time since we'll be right there. That's up to you. I'm off on Sundays most of the time, I'm scheduled to work Mon-Wed this week but doubtful I'll be working Mon. due to the holiday. Get the belt and pulley's and we'll figure out a day to do it. We could have a meet or a mini meet out of it.
