Steeda CAI Now Available

I just got the FSwerks exhaust and want to do intake as well. Looking forward to seeing real world results from FSwerks, Roush, Steeda. The exhaust was simple for me because I have used FSwerks before but the intake would like to see what everyone has to offer.

Anyone tryout the Steeda Ram air kit now listed? Seems the dyno chart is the same with or without the heat shield. Would the heat shield version be worth the extra $100 ?

it would have more of a real world help than a dyno result, because hood is open on the dyno so better airflow and engine wont be as hot, but i doubt it is worth the extra money

An open air cleaner sounds like poop on this engine without an exhaust to offset it or overwhelm it (and it would have to be ricey loud...).

Yeah, that was what I intended. The only reason I asked is that the way I read your post about your dyno results I thought you were saying it as Injen. I see what you at talking about.

I don't have enough first hand experience with these newer cars and intake set ups to have an opinion on which is or would be best. Personally, I think Newmission's looks the best from my seat in front of the computer. But, what do I know.

There are two inlets to the factory box. One at top and one below the maf. The real issue is the restrictive snorkel behind the grille and the restrictive opening from the grill that feed these two inlets.

yeah i meant on the steeda one, the pictures just show one hole, that is why i was curious.

I will probably do your mod and newmission's and maximize air flow

I don't agree with this statement as I have the Injen with the open air cleaner and it does not sound ricer/ricey; the engine has more of a growl to it.
