To get there products in as many peoples 2012 Foci as soon as possible and get a jump on the competition, with prospects that this could lead to future sales of other Steeda products.

Oh, and if they had been looking at this thread they would have seen several people have been put off by the seemingly higher cost of their 2012 products, compared to other CAI's out there, and for every one that actually post, there are many more thinking the same thing. It is not my business, but if it was I might consider pricing my products similar to the competition for maybe a week or so to try to capture those sales from people who are on the fence. After that, snooze you loose. If they did that would probably be enough to prompt me to buy. This is a tight economy and price does sale, as I am sure Steeda knows.

^^^ goodwill my friend. I personally am leaning towards steeda simply becasue I have had past products. It is hard for me to maintain an open mind here becasue of the perceived past experience.

I wil most likely get the steeda intake but I don't like that they reuse the stock tube from the throttle body to the maf. I know it dose not matter performance wise but I like things to look good.lol

What if you get a metal pipe and add newmission's idea and have the filter sit near the bottom of the car, or have a tube with a funnel help push air into the filter?

there would be a hydrolock risk if you move the air filter, though that is a true cold air intake.

This cai sounds appealing due to ease of installation. Anybody who has installed it, does it improve the performance that drastically? $300 plus shipping doesn't sound bad for ~10hp increase. 20ft/lb increase even on a small range of rpm sounds amazing. I hope the dyno sheet is an otherwise stock motor. Also any videos or sound clips of comparison? I have PZEV, is it compatible?

what if you made a custom box, put the filter cover on and have the funnel force feed air into the intake box? NewMission has the right idea just some tweaking with the cai might be able to get more power.. Maybe?
