I went to Daytona for spring break nationals and only got 32 mpg... went 357 miles with the tank. I drove 65 the whole way... WTF! Average in the car said 28.0

At full, my "miles to empty" is 464. This last tank was 35.76 mpg, but the last 100 or so miles were very "spirited" driving

I have decided to see how well I can do with my normal half-spirited driving on this tank. On my next one, I am going to try to see how well I do without all of the craziness.

Last two tanks were alright, 31mpg when I filled up last night and 28mpg last week.

Hmm, I average about 25 here in town regularly, but on highway trips I've seen upwards of 40.

I'm not too concerned with mileage in this car. Its fun to drive and is much more thrifty than my Mustang was so I'm happy.

One aspect I would advice for those trying to maximize fuel efficiency is to get one of the obd gauges like a scangauge or an ultragauge. I've got both but prefer the display of the ultragauge and the cost is a bit better, however, either is fine. Several displays to chose from but instantaneous gas mileage is the most critical to help modify driving style. The focus does have an instantaneous bar graph display but it's not as helpful as seeing numbers. Another plus to the ultragauge for earlier second generations without the ambient temperature display (like mine) is it's one of the available gauges.
