it is supposed to be 7 flat, but the bloggers are finding it to be more like 7.3, we are mid to upper 7s stock, and with mods probably can be competitive.

VERY good to know... I had a HyperTech in my '92 Chevy Caprice with a 5.7L V8... I got 23mpg combined in it, meaning I was probably getting at least upwards of 26mpg hwy. Before the chip I probably got 18mpg combined. Not only that, but I also got quicker launches and a much improved 0-60 time. Best money ever spent on a car for me. Everyone calls BS, but I have the gas records to prove it! :P I still wish I hadn't sold that car...

Yep, maid difference is this one, is the "ram air" kit doesn't come with the heat shield but lets you add it in latter if you so desire.

looks like the same minus the heat shield. I wonder what the performance difference is, that will really show how important the heat shield is and the loss for cold air versus warm air, it shouldnt have an affect on mpg because the air won't be denser.

It is the same, it includes the same MAF housing with the velocity stack, and dual wall filter. And allows you to upgrade to the heat shield down the road if you choose.

Heres what it looks like in the car

according the purchase page it adds up to 12HP, which is the same as the CAI, but it is $90 less, might be better to get the air ram instead of the CAI. On the other hand for me personally, I live in oklahoma and it gets really dusty out here, so the cai heat shield will also help keep the air filter clean.

Whats the difference between the ram air and just removing the box? I dont understand how it can add 12hp.
