Yep, maid difference is this one, is the "ram air" kit doesn't come with the heat shield but lets you add it in latter if you so desire.

looks like the same minus the heat shield. I wonder what the performance difference is, that will really show how important the heat shield is and the loss for cold air versus warm air, it shouldnt have an affect on mpg because the air won't be denser.

It is the same, it includes the same MAF housing with the velocity stack, and dual wall filter. And allows you to upgrade to the heat shield down the road if you choose.

according the purchase page it adds up to 12HP, which is the same as the CAI, but it is $90 less, might be better to get the air ram instead of the CAI. On the other hand for me personally, I live in oklahoma and it gets really dusty out here, so the cai heat shield will also help keep the air filter clean.

Whats the difference between the ram air and just removing the box? I dont understand how it can add 12hp.
