I know you guys have gone over this, but can someone confirm that all you need to do is screw those ball-posts onto already existing posts if you want to install it yourself? No tools required?

I'm getting a Ti Hatch that I'm going to assume doesn't have the engine cover because it's still 3 weeks away from delivery. I'm the least mechanical person you've ever met so it would really have to be idiot-proof for me to attempt to install it myself.

As has been mentioned before, ETIS is a European technical web site and may not be completely accurate for North American vehicles.

Yes, the studs hand turn on to the existing threaded valve cover bolts.

Just realized I have an engine cover. It's called "the hood".

Mine was missing they are going to put it on today. Probably won't be able to though, doesn't seem like they have the posts to screw on.

Just ordered mine from Tousely Ford in MN http://www.tousleyford.com/index.cfm...tion=partsform and they are going to ship it directly to my address in CA. Nice to work with and $30 less than the cost through Ford Parts. Their web site is a bit of a mess and you can't order 2012 parts on there yet since they don't have a 2012 button, but a quick call and they will handle it for you the old fashioned way - person to person.

Funny.

If there isn't a cover, I suppose whatever is exposed can get wet. I'll be looking under my hood tonight.

We live in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a mile from our nearest neighbor in woodlands filled with critters - including rats and mice. They love to enter engine compartments and sit on flat surfaces - like an uncovered engine. They then idly eat any available wire - like the coil over plug wires on the nicely flat uncovered engine. At least with the cover, they have to get under the cover to get to the wires, and this has not been an issue with our 2003 Hyundai. Just another good reason to cover up - rats/mice are not exclusive to the woods.

True. When I pulled my cover on my VW to install the intake, there was all kind of debris from critters.

Anyone know what the difference is between the cover shown in pictures at the beginning of this thread versus this one that has an extra little hole in it?
