I both agree and disagree.

The first gens looked good in Europe, but Ford ruined them when they brought the design to America. The long overhang style bumpers just ruin the car.

That said.. I think as far as the American Focus goes, the 2nd gen is the best looking, especially in SES trim.

Can't blame Ford for that, the bumpers are part of National crash test standards.

I don't like the double upper grille other than I like the second gen. But the first gen sedan will always be my favorite. if there was a way to fix the up grille the sec gen coupe would be sexy as hell.

It reminds me too much of this. Like it was after thought.

This is how it should have been done.

I think we can blame Ford for that. It is obviously possible to have one design on a global scale (New Focus) so why did we get the Wal-mart version of everything before now? Lol

No man, 1st gen is the best. If you like the 1st gen MK1 better, the just get the bumpers, that simple. The best one for the U.S. is the SVT, happily it is only a first gen car with killer looks!!! What I am saying is all 1st gen Foci are better.

Of course you would say the car you own is the best Focus, I'm just saying all 1st gens look better(don't even have to argue a specific model type).
