What is power braking?


I can't go to 3500 RPMs with an ATX. ATXs have rev limiters which stop it at around 2800, even if you floor it while still holding the brake. The car wont move, but it wont rev past a certain point either. When I try to launch when doing this, it stalls it a bit. Thus far, I've found that 2000 rpms is the sweet spot (but I havent tried anything lower)

Power braking is just what you described. Giving it gas while holding the brake.

That reminds me, one of my Bro's ricer friends has an oldschool Supra that's pretty damn fast, but it gets horrible traction off the line, so when he should have been doing 15s, he ended up not being able to break out of the 17s.

I really hope with my mods, I'll be able to make good times off the line. If not, then I'll have to stick with being a rolling racer. (Racing from a pre-determined roll)

17s i would not think is a "pretty damn fast" car spinning or not lol, the mph would tell you how "quick" the car actually is.

Perhaps you should take some time to pull your head out of your butt and read through this thread. There are many posts in this thread with vehicles other than foci. I come on this site because I'm a car enthusiast and have an appreciation for all cars, including the SVT Focus I used to own.

I ran a 15.4 at 89mph with a 2.4 60'. This was with a svt swapped zx3 with a light weight flywheel and orp and 215/40/16 street tires.

Wait, so what are your exact mods? Is your car an ATX or MTX?
