How much gas in the tank during a 1/4 race?

Look at how much all those parts add up too, is the hunt for what little your going to gain vs the cost for parts worth it? the tune itself is going to run a minimum of 350 just for the tuning unit and a custom tune by a reputable tuner is going to add another 300-600 to that.
Not trying to dissuade you, just pointing out reality and sometimes reality sucks when the big picture (costs vs gains) is looked at.

Uhg, yeah, that's my problem. Every time I think about this, I want to sell my Focus and go buy a different car. One that'll be a hell of a lot faster.

But the Foc runs good, and mod'ing it would be fun. I just know it wouldn't make me all that fast, which just kills me to know that. So, I don't know what to do.



Also, here in Cali the highest rated fuel we have is 91 (out of 87 - 89 - 91), so what if I had my tuner tune me to 91 gas? How much difference would that make?

Wouldn't matter what 4 cyl you had, it takes money to make power and speed. They were never meant (at least us models) to be speed deamons without alot of work and money. And you being in cali raises other problems such as emissions and inspections. Get tiring after awhile taking parts off and putting them back on every time the car was up for inspection or you got sent to a ref.
A tune on 91 would help some since the timing could be raised a bit but on a stock car dont think it would give you a seat of the pants difference in feel, a little but nothing much. a cai and dyno tune to start would be your best dollar per grin factor experience. let it breath easier before doing anything else.

I think I'm just going to say f@*k it and get the header/flex/exhaust/tune. I've already got the CAI and the 67mm TB is on the way. If all I can do are 15s, so be it. For an ATX 2.0 Sedan w/o forced induction, I'm sure that's pretty fast. Plus, I don't want to really get rid of the FoFo.

Maybe sometime down the road I'll add a Stage 2 Camshaft in addition with the above listed mods. At this point in my life, I'll be happy with what all that nets me.

Tonight I'm going out to the drags. They aren't officially open to the public yet, but my ricer buddies know the guy who basically runs the place and he lets us go out there for free. We don't get to use the time equipment or anything, but at least we can run against one another. All I'm rocken now is a CAI. Otherwise, I'm bone stock. But we'll see how I do. I'll probably take on this really old school Supra. It has a real loose suspension (causing it to sway back and forth a lot) and it gets a lot of tire spin, so I'm hopeing that'll be to my advantage. But I don't really think I can take it, but we'll see.

Anyway, smog is next week. After that I'll order my other mods. Can't wait for the upgrade!
