Here in Canada the Magnaflow cat back exh cost $500 new as a cash and carry, I would expect the American price to be fairly close. $25 is a fantastic find, and you're right about it sounding much better then the fart cans.

You think the guys at the place would know how much a magnaflow exaust is.. suspicious. Really lucky to find that though man, out of the 3 junk yards around me not a single one has a hatch back in it.

Depends on the yard, we a some here that you pull your own stuff, and the pricing is set per item, regardless of the make, model or year, or condition. For example, I picked up a hood deflector for a focus for $7.99, PCM $16.99, rear bumper cover $36.99. Any car in the yard, the same items would cost the same price. And to make it better, they have weekend sales, this weekend any headlight assembly was $7.99, literally any, Ford VW, BWM, Honda... all $7.99.

magnaflow exhuast

I have a magnaflow on my focus. they give great power gains and an amazing sound. not like all those kids at school i go with who have hondas with cheap exuasts that sound like a fart in a mud puddle. the magna flow goes for bewteen 400-500 dollars brand new. so it should be worth about 150-300 in good shape. Ive looked up the statistics for it and on an spi they claim up to a 20 hp increase on the cat back. I havent heard anything bad about magnaflows at all. they have a good reputation.

They claim to give 5 - 20 HP, but a honda civic headlight can claim up to 50 hp gains, so reality doesn't really play much factor in claims.

yeah the increase on an SPI isn't a whole lot with the cat back. get a header & cat back, now you're talking about the SPI breathing. 1hotfocus, when your car is struggling with MPG b/c of parts that need to be replaced, you're gonna see difficulty in seeing HP gains with added performance parts.

well i'm just saying you were asking about fixing ur mileage gains in another topic and said with an spi you wouldnt see any increase in HP with a catback. i beg to differ if your car is kept up to par. i've owned and boned an SPI hehe..
