My understanding of it is that manufactures are getting better and better at isolating outside noise (wind noise, road noise, etc.) and as a result it becomes harder to hear the engine note. The idea is that enthusiasts like to be able to hear the engine but still want a seemingly solid car that isn't plagued by tons of outside noise.

It falls in line with my preferences. Wind noise is annoying on long drives but I do like to hear the engine.

Yeah, it is important to be able to hear the engine. It sounds like they're still nailing down some details. I just can't believe it has taken Ford this long to get this car on the production line.

SoCal owners can be the guinea pigs (summer tires are no problem in winter).

The kiddies can have their impressive 0-60 and 1/4 mile times while I will enjoy the balance and refinement of the ST.

Maybe Ford is going for 300HP & a torsen= it's got to be, hah. With a few other Ford car's out w/ the same 247hp motor, what's up FORD?

That's right, and the power puts them square in the middle of the performance pack. I'll wager that we will see an RS before too long.

I think the ST will be the best handling car in the segment, but those buyers wanting more power will still whine.

I agree on that color. I'm normally drawn to drab colors, but the orange on the original show car was perfect. Unfortunaly, I'll probably be left to order one in silver or blue if I decide to get one. My silver SVT has certainly aged well.
